1 John 5-7      

Here is the message we have heard from CHRIST and now announce to you:  GOD is LIGHT, and in HIM there is no darkness at all.  So if we say we have FELLOWSHIP with GOD, but we continue living in the darkness, we are liars and do not follow the truth.  But if we live in the LIGHT, as GOD is in the LIGHT, we can share FELLOWSHIP with each other.  Then the BLOOD OF JESUS, THE SON OF GOD, cleanses us from every sin.

1 John 2:9-11

Anyone who claims to be in the light and hates his brother is still in the darkness.  Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.  But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.

      JESUS taught that friends were not to show their power over one another, but to serve each other.  Their relationships were not just for their own enjoyment; they were to work together for the Good News.  It was a friendship with a purpose.  We are called not only to GOD, but to one another, in love, unity and service.  We are to make a special effort to reach out to those who are different than we are.   GODS love will open doors of opportunity for us to share HIS love with people who will become friends for life.  

For me personally, I am so grateful for the FRIENDS that GOD has placed in my life from my childhood  to my career in the Navy and even those to whom he has given me as neighbors throughout the years.  They all reserve a room in my heart forever.  

 To all my Brothers and Sisters in the LORD that continue to share HIS WORDS of LIFE with me, I am Eternally Thankful to be called your Friend!!
